So having foraged 3000tonnes of grass in just 2.5 days, it's now
time to have a look at the benefits of grass in the rotation and as
you can see from the pictures it certainly has helped with getting
the soil into a good friable state with an abundance of earthworm
activity present making it an active alternative crop to maize. Not
only this but the grass will help to add organic matter back into
the soil when ploughed over. Another advantage of growing grass
over winter is that it will mop up any surplus soil nitrogen as
well as suppress weeds and act as a break crop by interrupting pest
and disease cycles whilst also prevent soil erosion over winter
when the land would otherwise be bare. If you are interested to
